Laminated Stand Up Pouch Bag FAQ
The key is that the packaging substrate is a compound of plastic films. Unlike a monomer, that only contains one film and its associated characteristics (for example a great vapour barrier), a laminated film combines individual layers of film, and all their associated characteristics (for example a great vapour barrier from one layer and the thermal resistance from another) into a single layer. The layers can also be oriented in a way that improves the mechanical performance of the film, thereby increasing puncture resistance, scratch resistance, and stretch resistance.
For flexographic printing the key is choice in printing surface and layer orientation. Not all films are equal printing substrates, for example some plastic films can be heavier (relatively speaking) making your packaging seem bulky, while some are more oil and water resistant than others. Having options to pick from when deciding which layer to print on, and which layer to put over the printed layer, means you can make better choices to improve print quality and protect the printed layer from scuffing.
We pride ourselves in our ability to meet a challenge, but have some limitations on the printing and converting we can do inhouse. Some of our most frequently bought laminated pouch bag options are bottom-gusseted side seal pouch bags also known as stand-up pouch bags (with and without an angle seal), vacuum seal bags with a 3/8th” seal on three edges, and 4-panel side seal bags (only available in a pinch bottom seal).
Bulldog Bag has been making laminated pouch bags for decades. During this time, we’ve had the privilege to learn industry leading practices from machine manufacturers, co-packers, marketing agencies, and a host of lessons from niche and established industries. We apply these practises and lessons to each of our customizable solutions to ensure your packaging is up to spec, and you have the best canvas for your brand.
