Pre-Press/Graphics Designer

Reporting to the Graphics and Press Manager your primary responsibility is to work with the Graphics Manager to create, modify and prepare art to the specifications of our flexographic presses. You will prepare and/or adjust art; proofs in a timely professional manner to meet prescribed deadlines.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Modify client art files, working efficiently to meet creative and quality expectations and defined company standards
  • Prepare proofs; design artwork from scratch
  • Setup artwork for plate making for flexographic and paper presses
  • Work as a team to improve the department
  • Follow all Food Safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the Departmental Summary

Must Haves:

  • 1 - 2 years of related experience with Flexographic plates
  • Degree or diploma in Graphic Design and/or Prepress Design
  • Attention to details and strong sense of design/layout
  • Experience in a MAC based platform
  • Solid understanding of graphic design, typography, page layout and color
  • Experience in prepress, production art/design
  • Extensive experience is mandatory with Illustrator / Photoshop / Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat and MS Office
  • Strong English communication
  • Strong decision making, organizational and listening skills
  • Continuous learning

Environment:

  • Role involves mainly sitting in front of a computer for extended periods
  • Production Manufacturing environment, can be noisy and dusty
        

This is a full time role with benefits (8.5 hrs per day with hours to be determined to cover department needs)
