Pouch Bag Machine Adjuster

Primary Responsibility:

Reporting to the Department Supervisor your primary responsibility is to setup and adjust machines to manufacture bags to required docket specifications following all operating and safety procedures and guidelines.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Setup Pouch Bag machine according to docket specification and job schedule
  • Adjust machine as needed to ensure efficient operating speed and job quality requirements are met
  • Ensures inventory of raw materials is available to complete job
  • Ensures all paperwork to include QA sheets are completed as directed
  • Efficiently package bags according to docket specifications
  • Follow all Food Safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the Departmental Summary
  • Reports all unresolved machine issues or deficiencies to the Department Supervisor
  • Assist in all other tasks requiring completion

Duties:

  • Set up and adjust conversion equipment when necessary
  • Perform roll changes to keep downtime of the machinery to a minimum
  • Work closely with Conversion Supervisor to ensure scheduling demands are being met
  • Catch bags and put them into boxes
  • Remove full skids of finished goods from the back of machine and prepare them for shipping
  • Ensure housekeeping is performed at all work areas
  • All equipment must be maintained and kept in a clean and operable condition

Must haves:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Grade 12 level or equivalent education
  • Good math skills
  • English comprehension skills; reading, writing and speaking
  • Flexible, shift work is required
  • Physically able to perform all aspects of the job; be on your feet entire shift, bending, reaching, walking, lifting up to 50lbs
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a plastic bag manufacturer on a Pouch machine

  • Forklift operation

Environment:

  • Manufacturing and production plant
  • Breaks are 2 X 10 min paid breaks and 1 X 30 min unpaid. Breaks to be determined by Supervisor

All candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and be available for an in person interview during normal working hours. All candidates must be able to perform this physically demanding role and be available for shift work. All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada for any employer.
