Mounter
Primary Responsibility:
Reporting to the Printing Supervisor your primary responsibility it to accurately mount printing plates to the correct cylinders according to mock–up and docket specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain printing plates and ensure availability for jobs
- Accurately mount printing plates to correct cylinders
- Perform all quality control procedures
- Help troubleshoot registration
- Follow all Food Safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the Departmental Summary
- Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner
- Assist with all other tasks requiring completion
Duties:
- Review job schedule for upcoming jobs and pull plates from inventory or art department
- Review jobs for cylinder availability
- Ensure plates are available, in good condition
- Move cylinders to mounting station
- Checks plates for copy, correct UPC and plate damage before mounting or storage
- Mounts plates on cylinders according to mock-up in Job Docket
- Assist Pressmen with registration and trouble shooting
- Clean plates after use
- Files and documents plate location
- Perform all quality control procedures and complete quality control checklist completely and accurately
- Complete production tracking reports
- Adhere to all safety procedures and practices
Must Haves:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Shift work, flexible
- Physically able to perform all aspects of the job; be on your feet entire shift, bending, reaching, walking, lifting up to 50lbs
- Excellent English communication skills, reading, writing and speaking, grade 12 or equivalent
- Ability to follow directions, written or spoken
- Computer and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently or in a team

Environment:
- Manufacturing and production plant
- Breaks are 2 X 10 min paid breaks and 1 X 30 min unpaid.Breaks to be determined by Supervisor
- In house print shop
All candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and be available for an in person interview during normal working hours. All candidates must be able to perform this physically demanding role and be available for shift work. All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada for any employer.
