Laminator Operator
Reporting to the Lumber Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to produce laminated plastic and laminated paper safely and efficiently which meets or exceeds all docket specifications and quality requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Set-up lamination machine to efficiently laminate film
- Operates laminator in safe manner
- Meets production targets consistently
- Keeps machine clean and in good operating condition
- Reports all machine performance issues to Supervisor
- Performs all quality control and documentation procedures accurately and completely
- Follow all Food Safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the Departmental Summary
- Assist with all other tasks requiring completion
Duties:
- Sets-up Laminator according to the information contained in Job Docket
- Loads raw materials to the Laminator
- Unloads all laminated mill rolls from Laminator and prepares for the curing process
- Prepares adhesive mix and fills the lamination coating station
- Checks 'treat' on all polyethylene rolls before lamination process
- Monitors machine during the production period
- Monitors control panel to verify all settings remain stable
- Monitors adhesive mixer to ensure adhesive is available at all times during production
- Maintains cleanliness around Laminator and surrounding area
- Upon every shut-down of the Laminator, performs a full machine clean up including cleaning with solvent (ethyl acetate) and a check of rollers to ensure no adhesive is remaining
- Flushes all adhesive pumps to avoid unnecessary clogging
- Checks the two tanks in the mixer and cleans if necessary
- Prepares paperwork for the shift
Must haves:
- Strong Mechanical aptitude
- Grade 12 level or equivalent education
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; reading, writing and speaking
- Strong math skills
- Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to follow directions, written or spoken
- Physically able to perform all aspects of the job; be on your feet entire shift, bending, reaching, walking, lifting up to 50lbs

- Previous industrial laminator experience is a valued asset
Environment:
- Manufacturing and production plant
- Can be hot, noisy and dusty
- Breaks are 2 X 10 min paid breaks and 1 X 30 min unpaid. Breaks to be determined by Supervisor.

All candidates must be able to perform this physically demanding role and be available for shift work. All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada for any employer.
