Maintenance Machinist non-CNC
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor your primary responsibility is to perform maintenance and repairs on all machines and machinery at Bulldog Plant and manufacture parts as needed to manufacturers standards in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform repairs in an efficient manner ensuring machine is operating to stated standards
- Perform regular maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule
- Manufacture parts for machine repairs and upgrades
- Follow all Food Safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the Departmental Summary
- Assist in all work that needs to be completed
Must Haves:
- Trade certification or diploma, willingness to challenge ITA exam
- Your own tools/tool box
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; reading, writing and speaking
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manufacture spare parts as needed
- Mig & Tig welding experience
- Low voltage and industrial motor electrical experience
- Lathe operating experience
- Physically able to perform all aspects of this labour intensive role including workshop cleaning
- Ability to do shift work, must be flexible (own vehicle required as shift work is required)
- Ability to work while machines are inactive, occasional overtime
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong team work ethic, help fellow millwrights as needed
Assets:
- 5 years experience working as a conventional machinist
- Flexographic printing press exposure
- Experience in plastic and/or paper bag manufacturing
Environment:
- Manufacturing and production plant
- Breaks are 2 X 10 min paid breaks and 1 X 30 min unpaid.Breaks to be determined by Supervisor
- Shift work is required
